When you think about CBD, do you think about fashion? If you’re familiar with CBD, also known as cannabinol, you probably wouldn’t associate the two together. That just recently changed.

CBD & Fashion: America Eagle Outfitters to Start Selling CBD | Mary Jane's CBD Dispensary

American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) will begin carrying CBD in 500 of their stores, as well as their online shop. They plan to sell CBD products for personal care in October 2019. Products such as lotions, muscle pain creams, and aromatherapy.

This unexpected move brought tons of attention to both AEO and the company providing AEO with the CBD-infused products, Green Growth Brands Inc. (GGB). Green Growth exclusively developed the products for American Eagle Outfitters.

News and media outlets had a feast with this announcement, which isn’t surprising due to the unlikely nature of this partnership. Safe to say it was a great marketing play for both companies.

Green Growth CEO, Peter Horvath, stated in a press release that “We are very pleased to be partnering with American Eagle, a leader in the specialty retail space. GGB provided the expertise necessary to develop the product formulations and packaging to create a really special line of products.”

This is sure to be an interesting partnership and helps validate the cannabis and CBD industry further.

Other Companies Selling CBD

American Eagle has joined the list of large retail companies to sell CBD-infused products. Large companies like CVS, Walgreens, and Vitamin Shoppe have become begun plans for selling CBD as well. This domino effect of retail chains signifies that the demand for CBD is not just a craze and is indeed very real. People want access to more natural remedies and these companies are responding.

Since the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, it is legal for companies to sell hemp derived CBD products. However, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is having a hard time keeping up with all of these CBD products and their claims.

Leaving some companies like CVS to test the waters before jumping in to supply multiple forms of CBD products. CVS is starting with CBD-infused topicals like lotions, creams, and balms, which have been deemed safe by the FDA.

Why is CBD Popular

Cannabinol is popular due to multiple factors. Some of the main reasons are that CBD doesn’t get you “high” like Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) does. CBD derived from hemp only contains 0.3 percent, which is not enough to intoxicate a user. People are able to receive the benefits that cannabis has to offer, without feeling “stoned.”
