The Stax Museum of American Soul Music is the brainchild of Soulsville Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and preserving soul music. The museum was born in Memphis’ historic recording studio (formerly known as Satellite Records) on McLemore Avenue where you can find small exhibits that tell stories about important moments within R&B history- like Smokey Robinson’s piano bench or Sam Phillips’ mixing board behind him.

The garden also features a Japanese Garden, which is the only one in Tennessee. Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church is located in Memphis, TN. The church is very active with many events for its members to participate in such as bible studies, cooking classes, and prayer groups. They also hold services every Sunday which includes a sermon and choir. Dunbar Elementary is such an amazing place. The teachers and staff are so nice and helpful, the students are always eager to learn new things, and they’re all just excited about what they do there. It truly feels like a family in the school, which makes going every day that much more fun.

The school’s mission statement is “empowering children with the skills necessary to become successful learners and responsible citizens.”

Dunbar Elementary strives to help students to learn not only academics but also life lessons such as respect and responsibility so that they are prepared for middle school or high school. Teachers put in a lot of effort to make kids feel comfortable.
