Things to Do Near Seaworld – Cathedral Rock Park | Smoke & Vape Culebra

8002 Grissom Rd, San Antonio, TX 78251, United States

Cathedral Rock Park is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the beautiful Sedona area. The park is known for its many hiking trails, scenic views, and great opportunities to spot wildlife. It’s also an area known for its rock climbing and mountain biking.

The Cathedral Rock hike is one of the most popular in the park due to its steep but short incline that leads hikers up to an incredible view of Red Rocks National Conservation Area below. Visitors will also enjoy seeing some of Arizona’s native wildlife including deer, coyotes, and wild turkeys on this trail. Hikers are urged not to approach or feed any animals they see.

Cathedral Rock is one of the most photographed formations in Sedona and for good reason. It’s so close to major roads that you can see it from a distance before driving up near it, but with its own rugged beauty unlike any other formation around. Not only does this area have more red clay than sandstone cliffs like on North Route 89A, making Cathedral Rocks stand out against an orange background much better when looking down through Oak Creek Canyon where they’re located by AZ 179; which makes them seem even grander because their color contrasts make them pop while those surrounding rocks are less visually strong beige or reddish browns rather than deep oranges as well!

-The Cathedral Rock Trail is only 0.7 miles in length, climbing quite steeply up an open slickrock slope beneath the butte to a viewpoint at the base of sheer cliffs – on a saddle which links the peak to an adjacent flat-topped summit to the south. The path gains 600 feet in elevation so it’s more strenuous than its short distance might suggest and fewer than half those who start make it all the way there though views just little further along are still very good looking northwards towards Sedona & colorful mountains beyond!

-The trailhead for the hike is half a mile along Back of Beyond Road, which forks westwards off AZ 179. This road dead ends at an upscale residential development but continues to provide access into Oak Creek in case someone prefers not to walk on trails or gets tired out after hiking from the parking lot. The 18-vehicle parking area fills up quickly by mid morning and space can be found near cacti trees with plenty of shade available during summer months when it’s possible that flash floods might occur due time changes over sweltering Arizona days where temperatures are soaring above 100 degrees Fahrenheit while thunderstorms have plagued some parts recently like Sedona and Cottonwood…

-The path is a rugged, narrow trail that snakes its way up the steep cliffs. The atmosphere of nature quickly fades away as you walk past trees and bushes to an area where your first good views are revealed- landscapes from all around in this majestic desert setting with towering peaks nearby. Suddenly, there’s the Templeton Trail intersecting before continuing on upward again over slickrock surface for most of it; marked by occasional crossings across small gullies or ravines but otherwise well defined thanks to several strategically placed steps along the way–allowing every traveler (newbie or experienced) access whether they’re walking alone or paired together side by side but still focused ahead at what lies just beyond their next step!
