Dr. Phil doesn’t believe in weed | Mary Jane’s CBD Dispensary

You’ve probably heard about Dr.Phil McGraw. The host of the talk-show Dr. Phil. His talk show normally consists of emotional stories or out of control children who don’t respect their parents or authority.

Dr. Phil

You’re probably also familiar with celebrities like, Bhad Barbie, who have gained their fame from appearing on his show.

Dr. Phil has received some controversy for brining these teens onto his show to increase viewership. Whether or not that’s true, here’s what is true about Dr. Phil. He thinks cannabis usage lowers IQ.

He stated on one of his episodes on his show that, “occasional marijuana smokers will look at a multi-point drop in IQ, even with just occasional use like once a week or two or three times a month. You’ll see IQ drop and motivation will drop across time.”

This statement hasn't sat well with CBD (cannabidiol) and weed users who believe this to be untrue. Furthermore, there isn’t really enough evidence out there (none on the Federal level) to support these claims.

CBD and Weed Being Used for Many Reasons

The cool thing about CBD and marijuana is that it is such a versatile substance. Cannabidiol and pot have a long list of reported to help common conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, pain and inflammation, and much more!

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive cannabinoid that gets users “high,” whereas CBD derived from hemp plants only contains 0.3% THC, not enough to get a user “high.”

With cannabis being and becoming even more of a complex subject due to new strains, stores, products, laws, policies, etc. it can be hard to keep track of everything that’s happening.

There is still much confusion and misunderstanding surrounding CBD and marijuana.

Furthermore, people have their own reasons for using pot. Some people benefit from it so significantly that it is worth taking.

Adding on to that, many commercials these days promoting pharmaceutical medications have long disclaimers at the end explaining all of the symptoms you may experience if you take said medication.

Some believe the long list of potential health risks caused by medications are not worth the risk and prefer to stick with CBD and/or weed, even if they do suffer minor side effects.

What Exactly is CBD?

This question has somewhat of a loaded answer because CBD can be somewhat of a complex subject.

For starters, CBD is a cannabinoid, it is believed there are many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.

The main difference between marijuana and CBD derived from hemp is the amount of THC. Hemp-based CBD contains 0.3% THC, which is legal nationwide in the United States and does not show up in drug tests.

Cannabidiol comes in a few main different forms such as CBD oil, edibles, flowers, concentrates, and creams.

These days it’s not uncommon to see regular products being infused with cannabidiol like CBD pillowcases and even CBD toilet paper.

However, do your research before purchasing products like this. CBD has become a hot trend and companies and products from all walks of life are trying to cash in.

Why is CBD so Popular?

It seems cannabidiol has taken the world by storm. Media and news outlets seem to follow the cannabinoid's every move, which makes sense.

CBD is a newly recognized chemical compound that has been painted as a medical miracle drug and helps with such a vast array of common conditions that had otherwise been treated using some kind of medication or other methods.

The effects of cannabidiol for things like pain relief without any real negative side effects or psychoactive effects, make it appealing and applicable to many different types people at many different stages and ages in life.

Furthermore, events like the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approving the first CBD-derived pharmaceutical drug called Epidiolex, which is used to help treat severe seizures was another headline grabbing event.

Not to mention, in 2018, the Trump administration signed the Farm Bill, which allowed hemp to be grown and sold legally in the United States.

Where to Buy CBD?

When it comes to purchasing cannabidiol, you’ll want to make sure you buy products from credible CBD stores and shops that carry the cannabinoid.

Here at Mary Jane’s CBD Dispensary, we pride ourselves on our high-quality products that come with lab reports for quality verification.

When it comes to buying things like CBD oil, you’ll want this kind of verification to avoid taking any low-quality and even harmful CBD products.

For example, with the recent vape crisis, fake and harmful cannabis vape cartridges that looked identical to legitimate brands entered the market and hurt innocent people.

This is why researching products before purchasing and checking lab reports for quality control is key.
