Arrive at iFLY and get geared up, step in your flight suit, hold on your helmet and adjust your protective goggles to fit. An experienced and accredited instructor leads you through an introductory training session so that you can get the most out of your adventure, and then it’s time to step into the flight chamber. The instructor will accompany you inside and offer tips and tips, and then you will be lifted off your feet as the chamber fills with a rushing wind. Hover above the ground, spin through the air, and feel the thrill before moving back down to the solid ground. Then take your breath and do it all over again.

For more than 100 years, the Santikos family has had an unparalleled theater experience. But you’re not going to find their biggest story on the marquee. It lies within the name of Santiko, its passion for helping others, and is rooted in San Antonio. By the age of 19, Louis Santikos had left his home in Athens, Greece, to central Texas. In the moments between the stocking shelves and the baggage of canned goods in the local grocery store, Louis noticed something – a line of people waiting outside the Rex Theater across the street. Realizing the potential, he was working to save whatever he could. And in 1911, Louis bought the same theater, launching a legacy that would last generations.

For outdoor sporting activities, the JBSA-Camp Bullis Rod-n-Gun Recreation Center (RNGRC) has everything required. Customers can enjoy the range of sportsmen, archery range, RV storage, rentals/information for hunting and rentals for lodging/park/grills. For use of both the Sportsman’s Range and the Archery Range, regular fees are required. The RNGRC also issues licenses twice a month for the carriage of classes.

Parks, Schools & Other Points of Interest in Far North Central

Far North Central is also home to some amazing parks, schools, public libraries and schools for its citizens to enjoy.  These facilities are all world-class, beautifully maintained and clean so residents of surrounding communities often visit to enjoy them.  Here’s a short list all located in Far North Central:

The Spanish Grove Academy or SGA, as they call it, is one of the most popular preschools in San Antonio. Whether your child is fluent in Spanish or you’re trying to introduce them to the language, they’ve got a spot waiting for them in their school.  They take the application process very seriously at the Spanish Grove Academy. Their  goal is to give each applicant family the opportunity to learn as much about the school as they can and to have all their questions answered.

San Antonio Christian School traces its history back to 1966 when Grace Bible College Preparatory School was established as a ministry for the Grace Bible Church. The vision was to provide the K-12 grade of Christ-centered, college-based preparatory education for families who had placed their faith in Christ. The school grew in enrollment, but in the early 1970s, the financial burden of the school on the church caused the leadership to consider closing the school. Shortly thereafter, a group of concerned families wishing to see their children continue their Christ-centered education met with the leadership of the Church. In 1972, after much prayer and seeking the will of God, the San Antonio Christian School (SACS) was born.

Dwight D. Eisenhower Park, also known as Eisenhower City Park, is a park located in the Texas Hill Country outside of San Antonio. It is managed by the San Antonio Parks City and the Recreation Department. Formerly part of the U.S. Army training ground, Camp Bullis. In 1988, it was opened to the public. The park is named after the United States of America. President Dwight D. Eisenhower, originally from Texas, was commander of the army at nearby Fort Sam Houston.

Both people and their pockets are giving it up with two paws  This puppy park lies within Panther Springs Park, and is super easy to find just inside the entrance to a large family-friendly park. Your pupperoni is welcome to join the party in the playgrounds in the dog park off-leash, or to join you on the leash trail or in other sections of Panther Springs Park.
