For over a hundred years, visitors have stayed at The Omni Grove Park Hotel. This is a venue for rest, rejuvenation and clean air in the mountains. Offering guest rooms with magnificent views of the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as the lush Donald Ross golf course, The Inn, set on top of the Sunset Mountain. Choose one of Roycroft Arts and Crafts historic Inn rooms at The Main Inn. Or, with your room or suite in Sammons and the Vanderbilt Wings, including our exclusive club floor, opting for something larger and more modern. With a stained glass window near the ceiling, the high ceiling of the club room is beautiful. The showers are very cool, with several shower heads. The Jacuzzi bath is a pleasant feature, but during the trip to the spa it made more sense. From most rooms there was also an excellent view. The room was wide and spacious.
The resort provides activities such as pilates, but they are subject to a fee. In the resort you will also find a spa. The service at the resort is outstanding, including the Edison restaurant. Don’t skip the buffet of the Great Ridge, it’s the stuff from which visions of French toast and fresh fruit butters come together (Blackberries are best!). Live musicians in the bar of the Great Hall are so kind, and try to get the audience involved-especially children. If you ask anyone, it is worth staying in bed! There are many hotels that claim to be nice to the family, and when you’re there, both staff and the other employers let you know it isn’t. Not with GPI: it’s a hotel that appreciates every guest from the valet to the elevator, from the concierge to the waiters, even the small ones, to try and make their trip in memory.
The location of Macon Ave makes it easy to feel remote while giving you remarkably easy access to the center of the city and to Biltmore. Service, terrain, restaurants; hotel rooms are not disappointing at all. The resort is amazing. Verdict-great visitor spot, good stay place. Sit outside and have a drink and games. Go for a sunset snack. Then go to the Sunset Terrace dinner-beautiful steaks. Finish the night in the spectacular entry, listen to the live music, people look and sit by the roaring fire if it’s hot. Just an amazing place to visit and stay at.
