About the Hollywood Park Neighborhood in San Antonio, Texas

Hollywood Park is a town in Bexar County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,062 at the 2010 census. It is an enclave within far north central San Antonio and is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area. Hollywood Park is located about 15 miles north of downtown San Antonio. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 km2), all of it land.

On December 7, 1955, after residents became concerned about losing the neighborhood’s sovereignty to San Antonio, the Town of Hollywood Park was formally incorporated. The community has a distinctly rural feeling, and for the rest of their lives, residents also build homes they expect to live in. The children and grandchildren of some of the original settlers are many of today’s leaders of the city. 

In addition to the homes originally built in Hollywood Park, two additional sections were added later to include The Gardens of Hollywood Park and The Enclave of Hollywood Park.

This low-key hotel, off Highway 281, is 6 miles from San Antonio International Airport and 13 miles from the San Antonio Riverwalk. Casual rooms are fitted with coffee makers, microwaves and mini fridges, plus ergonomic work desks and flat-screen TVs. Wi-Fi is featured. Suites have different living quarters and sofas that are pull-out. The kids stay in their parents’ room at no expense.

A breakfast buffet and parking are free facilities. There is also an outdoor swimming pool, a jacuzzi and a spa, as well as a 24-hour business center.

Purple Garlic Italian Café’ mixes in many of the original Purple Garlic favorites with some new Café’ classics. All still made from scratch. They feel that old Garlic favorites like Chicken Parmigiana are complimented nicely by their new classic Chicken Piccata and that their homemade Bruschetta is accompanied nicely by their Calamari Fritti. Homemade Italian Desserts Panna Cotta, Italian Cream Cake and Cappuccino Pie.

Living in Hollywood Park

Residents of Hollywood Park are blessed to live in an area full of nature while also being quite close to city life.  There is never a shortage of coffee shops, parks or shopping centers to enjoy within a five-minute drive of Hollywood Park. Rebel Church is a church that loves God and loves people. They are passionate about seeing people encounter God through worship, and experience the freedom that comes through knowing Jesus. Whoever you are, and wherever you come from, you are welcome. Brandon & Laura Caddell, their lead pastors, have a heart to reach their city and beyond with Jesus’ life-transforming message. Brandon is a pastor of the fourth generation who worked in ministry for 13 years before launching the Rebel Church. Since 2004, Brandon & Laura have been married and have 4 wonderful children. Together, they love to make people live exactly as they are. They believe that God has called them to awaken a generation of believers walking in sleep to a life of honestly following Jesus. Their heart is to develop a community of genuine individuals who serve others every day and grow closer to Jesus.

As soon as you walk in the doors at Parkhills you will be greeted by warm, friendly, members who know their way around the complex and want to help you find a place in which you will feel comfortable.

Their services of worship do not follow a liturgy or a tradition, but are both understandable and inviting and engaging. Their sermons from the Teaching Pastor are ready to help prepare you… to live in the real world. They are soundly scriptural, but they are supposed to be realistic.

Parks, Schools & Other Points of Interest in Hollywood Park

Hollywood Park is also home to some amazing parks, schools, public libraries and schools for its citizens to enjoy.  These facilities are all world-class, beautifully maintained and clean so residents of surrounding communities often visit to enjoy them.  Here’s a short list all located in Hollywood Park:

Voigt Park offers a small quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle of these busy stressful times. Voigt Park provides residents of Hollywood Park a place to get away from the stresses of today’s world, relax and spend quality family time. Voigt Park, located on El Portal offers a lighted pavilion, tennis courts, picnic area, playground equipment, and a swimming pool. Voigt Park is open Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 10 p.m. and on Tuesday thru Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday’s closure is for maintenance of park facilities.

In 1974, Gay and Jim Judson formed the Montessori School of San Antonio as the Judson School-a Montessori Workshop. Eighteen students at the primary level (aged 3 to 6) attended room classes leased from Asbury United Methodist Church on San Pedro Avenue that year. After the school grew to three primary school sections, it also started to serve older students, adding the first Lower Elementary section in 1981 and Upper Elementary in 1985. Pressed for space, the rapidly expanding school found a new home at 705 Trafalgar, the Alamo Heights Tennis Center’s current site, in 1986. The school added its first middle school class the same year.
