Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium is a stadium in San Antonio, Texas. The stadium was completed on April 5, 1998, with a construction cost of $125 million and a seating capacity of 65,000. It is the home of the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA and the San Antonio Missions of Minor League Baseball. The stadium replaced Alamo Stadium as the home of the Spurs and Missions. It hosted its first event ten days after completion when the University of Texas at Austin played UTEP Miners on April 15, 1998. On November 18, 2007, it hosted its first-ever NFL game when the San Diego Chargers beat the New Orleans Saints 34-27. In 2011 it was announced that due to damage from Hurricane Ike, major repairs would be needed to the stadium.

The stadium was originally named after Bexar County, where San Antonio is located. Although people objected because the county commissioners make decisions on how to spend part of its budget, voters approved an amendment to name the new stadium after Wolff in September 1997 by a 3-1 margin; Proposition 2 passed with 53% of the vote. The estimated cost of this venue was $186 million according to the Bexar County Commissioners’ website (in June 1998). The sports architectural firm HKS Inc., which previously designed Minute Maid Park in Houston and Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas for the NFL expansion team Houston Texans, designed the stadium’s layout and exterior look. A selling point of the park was AT&T being the park’s major corporate sponsor.

The architecture of Little Flower Church is reminiscent of that found in old-world churches, with its Tomb Chapel containing a nearly perfect replica (down to every detail)of one found while touring Lisieux’s Basilica Saint-Étienne du Mont. The wealth within this architectural basilica includes several first-class relics including ones worn by St Thérèse and her parents – asleep here forevermore; King Louis XIV & Queen Anne Le Muert de Richemont alongside many other holy figures who have made their home at Frossayyraine over time such as St Zélie Guérin Martin…which makes sense why they were elevated into 49th Minor Basilica of the Catholic Church in La Vendée department – under new standards set out by Pope John Paul II.

Little Flower Church is also one of the only churches to have its interior painted on six walls with frescos by Réocreux, an artist who was known for his medal engravings and paintings which he completed using egg tempera. Exact replicas of wood carvings done by local artisans are found throughout the nave. The high altar is carved with a fine degree of detail…as well as three large statues (one at each side, another above). The tabernacle sits atop marble columns encased with bronze reliefs – adorned with gold leaf. A large gilded crucifix is suspended over the main altar which has been outfitted with priceless handcrafted stained-glass windows that are beyond beautiful.

The people at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church are so friendly and welcoming that they have become a spirit-filled community to serve the Archdiocese of San Antonio! Priests from The Brothers Of Beloved Disciple come here for spiritual guidance, which is why this place deserves its reputation as one where you can feel God’s love in every corner.

The mood throughout our whole experience was lighthearted yet serious; prayerful but not sobering–a balancing act achieved perfectly through laughter and fellowship. This kind of spiritual intimacy is truly divine; there was no doubt in my mind that God lives through his people here.

Memorial Library in San Antonio, Texas is a beautiful library that was built in honor of the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. This library is definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in San Antonio! It’s filled with amazing artwork and features a really lovely outdoor courtyard. Plus, it’s home to one of the largest military history collections in the country.
