Forgey Dog Park, located at 1665 Riverdale Lane, is open to members from dawn to dusk 365 days a year. Members have a safe, fenced area where dogs can socialize with others. Germantown Park Rangers are patrolling the field and there is plenty of open room for dogs to run and jump. Large and small breeds have different quarters to enjoy.

Dog owners who are interested in joining Forgey Dog Park are encouraged to register at the Parks and Recreation Office on weekdays, 8 a.m. To five o’clock. New and returning members must complete an application, sign an insurance waiver, provide proof of residence (no driver’s license accepted) and a copy of the latest pet immunization records and view a 5-minute presentation. Resident member fees shall be $40 for the first dog and $10 for each additional dog. Non-residents pay a marginally higher rate for the use of the park. Membership is necessary to access the location.

This is a beautiful dog park in Germantown just south of Shelby Farms Park. It has a dedicated section for small dogs and amenities well above average. The park has automatic dog watering bowls and poop bags that are readily accessible. There is also a water fountain for humans, and plenty of shade is available in the park.

There is a 30-minute class needed to ensure that you and your canine are knowledgeable of the rules and willing to comply with the rules that are needed of you. There is also an annual $50 fee for the use of this dog park in the area. Classes and tags are available at most pet stores locally, and canines who have already earned a class in the past can get their tags at certain local government locations.

The Shelby Farms Park will be an alternative to this dog park. This has miles of walking trails and a range of events for you and your canine to take part in. However, you will be expected to keep your canine on a leash at all times, since this is not a fenced park and there are other events taking place in the park, such as sports and biking.

Visitors are also not permitted to enter this park. You must provide proof of residence, complete an application, sign an insurance waiver and provide a copy of the vaccination records. The local authorities are responsible for responding to calls at this location, and the city enforces the rules here.

If your canine bites another, you will be responsible for any harm they do. Your insurance waiver will also say that you are unable to hold the city responsible, and that your insurance would not cover the allegation. For more details , please contact the Park Team at (901) 757-7375. It’s a fenced area that’s protected, well grassed, and wide enough to play some long-range games like fetch.
