A bike and pedestrian route linking the Pick-Your-Own Strawberry Patch to the Agricenter Farmers Market is the Agricenter Sunflower Trail. To enhance this trail, $100,000 was supported in August 2016, and it was officially reopened in September 2017. This paved path also connects to the Agricenter Shelby Farms Park, making it easily accessible to people with different abilities. This green space, although close to a busy road, embodies an undeniable sense of peace and calm.

Memphis parks and green spaces are the mother lode of Shelby Farms Park. This is the first thing that pops into the mind of every local when someone says Memphis Park, and with good reason. This park is vast and occupies 4,500 acres. There is something for virtually every resident of this city or tourist, home to many paths, playgrounds, events and event sites. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, so use it the best you can, especially if it’s nice out.
Audubon Park

Audubon Park is a fun spot for a lazy afternoon or a picnic. One might come here and lose track of time, with an idyllic lake and the sound of quacking ducks. Central Gardens National Historic District

Established in the early 20th century, this neighborhood is home to some of the Greater Memphis area’s most beautiful residences. This is one of the most enduring cultures in the whole region. With the idea of creating sprawling greenways, long boulevards and popular shared spaces, it was developed. The National Historic District of Central Gardens is listed on the National Register and is preserved as a local historic district by the City of Memphis. This place was built to celebrate green spaces and culture, even if all you do is drive through this neighborhood to admire the architecture.
Dixon Gallery & Gardens

Dixon Gallery & Gardens, founded by Hugo and Margaret Dixon in 1976, is an art museum and public garden, combining the arts and horticulture. A permanent display of over 2,000 artistic pieces is featured in The Dixon. Every year, the museum organizes and presents eight to 10 exhibits that can be enjoyed by individuals of all ages. On 17 acres of land, The Dixon sits and is a beautiful public garden. This could quickly become the ideal place to spend a free weekend afternoon, with so much to look at and take in via all of your senses.
Lichterman Nature Center

Mud Island

Mud Island on the Mississippi River is a park packed with the past of Memphis. Walk over the Skybridge for less than half a mile to reach the Riverwalk, a Lower Mississippi River scale model. The Riverwalk is made of more than 1,700 pieces of concrete and covers almost five blocks of city land. Paddle boats, views of Downtown Memphis and the chance to soak up the sun and enjoy the natural world are available. The Mississippi River Museum, also located on Mud Island, is 10,000 years old.
Overton Park

Not only does this park have green fields, it also has a nine-hole golf course, a zoo, two playgrounds, an art museum and a forest of 126 acres. Conserving the park they have is one of Overton Park’s missions. That’s a lot of Midtown Memphis Park. This park is a great place to just hang out and enjoy a warm and sunny day. There is no chance anyone would get bored here with tons of events for everyone.
The Greenline

The Greenline is a nearly 11-mile paved urban trail linking Midtown Memphis all the way to Cordova via Shelby Farms Park. Transformed from an abandoned railroad line, the Memphis neighborhood has become a staple of the Greenline. You can carry your own bike from their own Greenline Bike Rentals or even hire one. Get some exercise and enjoy the quiet that this urban route can offer. What’s more: This bike route has connected the sub-communities of Memphis to each other, tapping into the lifeblood of the whole region.
Tom Lee Park

Tom Lee Park is the ideal place to take the sunset walk or jog, lying on the banks of the Mississippi River. This site occupies 30 acres and runs along one mile of the river bank, with panoramic views of the Mighty Mississippi. This park is named after Tom Lee, the famous river worker who rescued 32 passengers in 1925 from a sinking steamboat. This park is also the site of the Beale Street Music Festival, one of the Memphis International Festival’s biggest events in May.
