Memphis Hiking Trail – The Hampline Agricenter Sunflower Trail | S. 3rd Street CBD Store

7777 Walnut Grove Rd, Memphis, TN 38120, United States

Agricenter Sunflower Trail, a Greenprint Certified Project, is a bike path that links the Pick-Your-Own Strawberry Patch to the Farmer’s Market. In August 2016, Agricenter won a $100,000 grant to upgrade the trail. Tap here to learn all about this. The ribbon cutting for the Agricenter Sunflower Trail took place on 5 September 2017.

The Agricenter Sunflower Trail reveals the agricultural character of the area and links Shelby Farms Park to Agricenter. The trail leads to the Farmer’s Market, a cultural resource. The pavement of the trail used regionally agreed criteria for connecting the network of green spaces.

The idea for this trail began when Agricenter was built in 1986 and it was planned to be completed. The desire lines on the path were evidence of the existing usage of the community. We encourage users of all ages and abilities by improving the partially graveled road bed and the desire lines that make up this previously unpaved portion of the trail. In addition, with improved access to the trail by the construction of bollards through a fully funded IOBY campaign, we expect further use of the trail. The bollards have been ordered and will soon be mounted.
