Menger Hotel – Top Place to Visit in San Antonio, Texas

204 Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205

The Menger was absolutely wonderful and beautiful interior design. We had a great time at the hotel bar. The ambience was very nice and friendly, and it had a very nice atmosphere. The bartender was very professional and fun on all fronts of customer service, bartending, and general people-to-people interactions. He absolutely loves to help and support, and it was clear that his most important goal was in the serving of his customers. My husband and I had a couple of adult beverages and some appetizers, which were very good. We appreciate the fact that the bartender gave us his personal recommendations for the menu’s most popular customer requests and dishes.

The hotel itself was an awesome historical hotel. The rest of the staff was very attentive, as well. While we especially enjoyed the bartender, the service  was awesome from the valet, to the clerk, to the waiter, and room service. The room was nice and clean, and we had a balcony overlooking the plaza. It was quite the experience to stay in a hotel that historic figures once stayed at, as well. President Theodore Roosevelt and  Mr. Richard King were among them, to name a few.

Now when my sisters and I fly in or out of San Antonio, we splurge and stay at the Menger.  Back in 1940, our parents spent their honeymoon there. At that time, of course, it was still a historic hotel, but there was not as much love put into it as now. The additions over the years since are still in keeping with that grand hotel’s original plan: lodging for comfort, and beauty in the heart of San Antonio’s Old Town. However, it is now more suited for the modern day traveler and vacationer.  The staff is always accommodating for our needs, and I have no complaint as to the quality of personal services we have received while staying there. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel!
