Goodlettsville is a city in Davidson and Sumner Counties that was incorporated as one of Tennessee’s first suburbs back in 1958. With its population at just over 3, 000 people, it has grown tremendously since then and by 2020 will have reached 17,789. In 1963, When the city of Nashville merged with Davidson County, Goodlettsville chose to remain autonomous. The town of Goodlettsville was named for A.G. Goodlett, who served as pastor of Cumberland Presbyterian Church from 1848 to 1853.
