Olmos Basin Golf Course | Marbach Smoke & Vape

7022 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78216

Just north of downtown San Antonio, Olmos Basin is one the city’s most popular municipal courses. The tree-lined fairways and creek that runs through many holes make it an interesting layout that locals thoroughly enjoy. It opened in 1963 when George Hoffman designed it for this purpose with a Men’s City Amateur Championship being held here since its opening year marking numerous championships overall at Olmos Basin Golf Course among both men and women golfers alike over time until present day continuing on after all these years too!

A fun, local golf course that offers something for every type of golfer. The tree-lined fairways and creek winding through the landscape make it an enjoyable experience even if you’re just playing recreationally or with friends. On hole 2 (par 4), players are faced with an uphill approach shot after cutting around the corner to begin their round – this is one of Olmos’ more challenging holes requiring accuracy in order to avoid trouble on either side of your tee off box!

  • Enjoyable course for beginners and experts alike
  • Low rates to golf year-round, even during the summer months!
  • Fun community events like Ladies’ night out on Fridays
  • Challenges faced by every golfer are met with creative solutions

At Olmos Basin, golfers can expect to find some fair birdie holes and flat greens. With good ball striking, you should be able to post an impressive score here! Four different tee boxes are available for players of all skill levels at the course which ranges from 5612-6847 yards in length.

Here are some of the holes at Olmos Basin Golf Course that visitors can enjoy:

  • The par 4 #13 on Olmos Basin Golf Course is a 410 yard long hole that needs to be accurately hit in order to avoid the creek and trees, which will leave you with an easy shot at the green.
  • While playing at #5, you can expect a creek to cross the fairway around half way. The tree encroaching on the right side of the approach could make your life difficult when trying for par 5.
  • #11 is a fun par 5 with creek throughout, sharp turn right around trees/pond, and green surrounded by bunkers. There are great risk-reward opportunities if your drive does not go far enough – you can fly the trees or pond to reach better positions on the course.

Fun Fact

The central location of Olmos Basin Golf Course makes it the most played Alamo City golf course. This is because this championship layout requires accurate drives, but also has four sets of tees making it accessible to all skill levels.

The popularity may be due to its forgiving nature towards beginners and tree-lined fairways that make for tight shots on narrow holes throughout the 18-hole course which gives players a challenge while still allowing them opportunities for success.
