Brackenridge Park Golf Course

2315 Avenue B, San Antonio, TX 78215

Brackenridge Park is an iconic Texas golf course with a rich history. This 1916 design by A. W. Tillinghast, the venerable architect who designed Baltusrol and Winged Foot among others, has stood the test of time over decades to become one of San Antonio's most beloved courses that still hosts many top tournaments today. Old limestone starters shacks like this are rare in modern times when everything seems brand new; commemorative plaques date back years ago when legends played here such as Byron Nelson; massive Tudor rock clubhouses filled with pictures from past victories make Brackenridge Park unforgettable for any golfer around!

The San Antonio River is home to some of the most historic golf courses in Texas. The game first began taking root here back when an old man used it as his hunting ground for bears! His name was Brackenridge - he would be proud that so many great names came along after him to create what's now known as one of America's favorite pastimes, golfing.

As it is known for being an easy course, the majestic oaks and pecans on the narrow fairways have their own ways of reaching out to suck in shots that are not perfectly straight. There's even a random palm tree at Brackenridge! This affects your approach shot on No. 4 because you'll most likely notice it when playing this round here.

The course's front and back nines feature very different challenges. The back nine has water hazards that come into play on seven of those holes, while the first nine doesn't have any ponds or creeks at all.

The Brackenridge Golf Course underwent extensive renovation in 1968. Highway construction on 281 and I-35 caused the course to lose 10 acres, shortening a few of its long par 4s along the back nine.

The back nine has some memorable par 3s. Hole 16 plays over a creek to an elevated green, and the 18th plays 166 yards across water.
