This park is the place to go when you need peace and to be separated from the world. It's also very well and clearly marked for you to always know where you are. This is definitely a great hiking spot. Trails are garbage-free and the scenery is beautiful! We'll definitely be back in the very near future for another walk. They have very clear and detailed maps and trail markers. I strongly recommend that you take plenty of water. 1 Bottle per person per mile. Also, you know... Don't forget to take your breaks with light snacks. Pay attention to your feet and maintain a steady pace. Don't rush or hurry. Take the time to breathe in and soak up the natural air. The forest's sounds are so relaxing and soothing. Definitely a great way out of town to spend the day relaxing!
For a short walk or a bigger hike, my favorite and number one go to the place. On some trails, it can be challenging. Beautiful surroundings and very relaxing! But in case only.... Take with you enough water and make sure that your cell phone is fully charged before you take off and carry a knife, just in case. ALWAYS keep in mind that you are in nature where animals are home and even if they don't come to you or you don't see them, be alert and stay on your trail and you'll be free! GCSNA is a lovely place to walk. The difficulty of the trails varies, so for everyone, whether you are an experienced hiker or a beginner, there is something. But even the easiest trails can become challenging in the summer heat. That said, please take with you a lot of water. It takes about 32 oz for the average person. You're going to be walking for every hour, so plan ahead and be prepared. I've seen a lot of people wearing one 16 oz at this park. Water bottle and no backpack, so it's clear they didn't have water on them anymore. Also, if you walk the less crowded trails, watch out for rattlesnakes.
