The Majestic Theater is the earliest and biggest atmospheric theater in San Antonio. The theater has 2,264 seats and was intended for the Interstate Theaters of Karl Hoblitzelle in 1929 by architect John Eberson.
The theater was listed in the National Register of Historical Places in 1975 and was designated in 1991 as a Texas Historic Landmark and April 19, 1993 as a National Historic Landmark. From 1989 to 2014, the theater was home to the San Antonio Symphony. It stayed the biggest theater in Texas and the second biggest cinema in the United States for many years. It was also the state's first theater to be fully air-conditioned.
Inside, it's so lovely. There's a lot of excellent seats. Bar isn't too costly. Their artists lineup is always amazing. Great historic theater in San Antonio city center. They don't create them seriously like this anymore. The interior decor is fantastic! It seems that when you step in, you're entering the past. They do Monday trips. I suggest that you check it out. You're not going to be unhappy. It was an amazing experience! Beautiful reminiscent interior of ancient San Antonio. The employees are very responsive to a multitude of circumstances, i.e. control of crowds and lines and instructions.
Great place to stay! Even the seats on the balcony have excellent views. Not too large and not too tiny, but if you're up somewhere on the balcony, be ready to climb a lot of steps. You can order food / drinks in advance and deliver them to your table. Historic theater, lovely decoration of art. Events differ, and parking for any location is normal. Can be very expensive, the box office does not pay all the charges you see online and for a fast buy you can pick up in a charging area. Staff at the box office are fantastic to find seats. The design is distinctive and beautiful. It really added something a little additional to the experience.
