Raymond Stevens "Thunder" Tumlin Jr. is an American politician who was born on April 17, 1947. He represented District 38 in the Georgia House of Representatives, which includes sections of Cobb County. In 2010, he was elected mayor of Marietta, Georgia, and was re-elected in 2013. Tumlin has served on the Marietta Board of Education as Chairman of the Board. He is the Chairman of the Marietta Board of Lights and Water and was elected to the Municipal Electric Association of Georgia (MEAG) Board of Directors in 2013. Tumlin is a Republican Party supporter.

Tumlin is a CPA and an attorney who received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, his MBA from the University of Denver, and a JD from Georgia State University's College of Law.  Tumlin works as a tax attorney in Marietta.

While not exactly known for its large area, Tumlin Park still scores high from visitors for its walking track, playground area and sport-friendly areas.They offer a fantastic playground area with swings and other activities for the kids. It's in its own little section, so you can keep an eye on the kids while wandering around the route. 

If you enjoy the sun, this is the park for you. This is a fantastic place to ride a bike or scooter. Unless you take a rest under the picnic pavilion, there is no shade. Nearby restrooms are regularly stocked and clean. The park rangers are always on the lookout. 

Parents are welcome to use the restrooms as well, as they contain changing tables and wall seats for toddlers.

There is a considerable amount of lawn space available, as well as a two-person swing that is ideal for picnic dates and birthday parties for the hopeless romantic or sportsman. There are also a big number of people playing soccer and occasionally football on the well-kept lawn. A lighted tennis court is also available and also a covered eating area with lighting as it gets dark. There is plenty of parking. 

The area is beautifully lit, so if you like to stroll early in the morning, you may still get your exercise. This is a suggested urban park since the facilities are well maintained.

2 Toy Cars

Race them down the slide. Tunnel slides are awesome for this!

Make roads and tunnels for them in the wood chips or sand. Use rocks for houses and buildings; create a whole city for the cars to travel.

Create a car obstacle course.

A Ball

Play Toss and Roll with your child. Have your child stand at the top of the slide and roll the ball down to you, then toss it back to them.

Let your child stand at the bottom of the slide and try to roll the ball all the way up to you.

See how many times your child can jump while holding the ball between their knees. Once your child has the hang of jumping while holding the ball with their knees, have a relay race or take turns trying to hop to a certain point.

A Bucket

Place a bucket at the bottom of the slide and have your youngster roll the ball down the slide, attempting to land the ball in the bucket.

While chanting the song Jack Be Nimble, Jack Be Quick, turn the bucket over and have your youngster run and jump over it. If your child can't get enough of jumping, try some of these jumping activities.

With wood chips, leaves, or other natural elements, make a pretend soup or a magic potion.

Jump Rope

Play Snake in the Grass: tie one end of the jump rope to a bench or fence and wriggle it back and forth as your child tries to jump over it without touching it.

Play Row, Row, Row Your Boat: sit facing each other half a jump rope distance apart and place the jump rope between you in the shape of a U so that one of you can both handles and the other can hold the bottom of the jump rope now take turns gently pulling the other forward as you lean back singing Row, Row,  Row Your Boat.
