Located in the heart of the city, this beautifully landscaped expanse is one of the city's favorite recreational spots. Spanning 25 acres (10.11 hectares), Laurel Park offers something for everyone. Kids will love their own little play area replete with a duck pond. For those into sports, the park offers 13 well-maintained tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, a basketball court as well as shuffleboard facilities. If you simply wish to relax and take in the outdoors, there's a picnic area as well. 

Tennis Dynamics manages the Laurel Park Tennis Center, which offers a variety of tennis programs for adults and youngsters. There are programs offered for true beginners as well as intermediate to advanced tournament players.

The Tennis Dynamics staff hosts a free tennis round robin at the park once a month throughout the seasonal months. For everyone's enjoyment, they supply courts, food, drink, and balls. It is a terrific social and entertaining time for everyone because it is not overly competitive.

Two covered picnic areas with tables and grills are excellent for all types of small and large groups. The MAX group size for the Large Pavilion is 64 people, and the MAX group size for the Small Pavilion is 36 people. The parking lot, playground, and ponds are all within walking distance of both pavilions. The ducks  are always ready for a nibble, so bring some leftover bread with you. The park's convenient location off of the major road (Whitlock) also makes it easy to grab lunch or a snack before heading to the park: McDonalds and Publix. Laurel Park is also conveniently located near Marietta Square. Treat the kids to a trip to the park after you've dragged them on a historical tour or a shopping spree.

Hall County's gigantic boat ramp, the largest on Lake Lanier, is located in Laurel Park, which also has enough area to conduct large-scale events. Laurel Park hosted a stop on the Fishing League Worldwide Pro Tour in 2018 and the Bassmaster Classic Elite Series in 2019. Hundreds of amateur, college, and high-school tournaments have realized that Laurel Park is an excellent area to fish, in addition to professional events.
