Joseph Tribble Park

12517 Largo Dr, Savannah, GA 31419

One of the initial aims of the Windsor Forest Neighborhoods Association was to convert an old wastewater treatment facility into a public park.

Tribble Park was renovated in the early 2000s and dedicated in 2007. Tribble Park is a 55-acre park in the Windsor Forest neighborhood, located at 12519 Largo Drive. An 11-acre lake is part of the park.

When the Joseph J. Tribble Park, tucked into the thick woods off Largo Drive, was unveiled by city officials and citizens of the southside area, everyone was ecstatic.

The park includes green fields, a paved walking track, a fishing area, and a pavilion with picnic tables, as well as a massive lake that will be stocked with fish until it is fully filled.

This project is important for Windsor Forest, the entire Southside, and the city because it has shown to the community what a dedicated group of people can accomplish. The Windsor Forest neighborhood never gave up, and neither did the city council. As a result, they now have a park that the whole city will enjoy, including families.

Joseph J. Tribble, a retired state representative, Union Camp engineer and administrator, and prominent Windsor Forest resident, was honored with the park's name. In the 1960s, he was the treasurer of the state Republican Party, and then served as the Reagan Administration's assistant secretary of energy.

Joe Tribble Park features a six-tenths-mile paved walking track with lights, a playground, a picnic shelter, chairs, and benches.

This park is a hidden gem, and unlike some of the other parks in the city, it is not overrun with visitors. You should come and feed the ducks without being bothered by seagulls. The people who come out here, who are often from the city, are very friendly and courteous. This park is without a doubt one of the best in the city.

You might occasionally chance upon a deer or a fox. There’s also a tiny free library at the entrance if you’re up for sitting on one of the park benches to just read

Joe Tribble Park exemplifies what hard work, determination, and commitment to a cause will look like after nearly two decades.
