At its original Commerce Street site, Blanca Aldaco opened the restaurant in 1989. The restaurant soon grew to be a local favorite, and Aldaco’s relocated to its present, much larger, historic Sunset Station location in 1999. Aldaco’s opened its doors in the Stone Oak area in March 2008, fulfilling the dream of opening a restaurant on the northside of San Antonio.
The name of Blanca, a native of Guadalajara, Mexico, has become synonymous with authentic Mexican cooking. Her efforts have enhanced the taste and style of the cuisine offerings of the city and helped to bring San Antonio as the undisputed capital of Mexican food to national prominence. Aldaco’s has grown into a favorite destination for San Antonians who want to enjoy our special Margarita Avocado, traditional chicken enchiladas or Tres Leches Original Pastel.
For traditional, cantina-style dining, let Aldaco transport you to Mexico. Aldaco ‘s offers cooking lessons suitable for team building or immersive dinner activities and is available nightly for private events.
We are still inspired by awards and press attention for our fresh food, crafted drinks, environment and service to keep things fresh and exciting. Here are a couple of the awards we are most proud of and the buzz.
There are a lot of awards, and it’s true that we haven’t earned any of them … but they’re definitely holding us on our toes.
Hearing good things from the press ignites our passion to continuously improve.
We love notes from our most satisfied customers.
