The Temple Baptist Church is a small, independent church that aims to reach this community with the good news of Jesus Christ. They believe God’s word is true and they follow it as laid out in scripture–especially when it comes down through King James translations like Genesis 1:1-2 or Paul’s letters about salvation by grace alone (Eph 2).

The church believes that the Lord Jesus personally commanded baptism and the Lord’s Supper, with baptism serving as a sign of admission into the body of Christ and the Lord’s Supper serving as a regular reminder of Christ’s death, resurrection, and return. The believer’s death to sin and new life in Christ is symbolized by baptism. Baptism takes place in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Sacred Heart Catholic Church is located in Sacred Heart Catholic School. The church is a diverse congregation with a rich past and an even brighter future as they endeavor to reach out by assisting individuals in becoming disciples of Jesus. Believes that the church is more than simply a location to go to; it is also a community of people to join. Everyone is welcome to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Florida in Jesus’ name.

The church offers Spanish mass, as well as a variety of groups and clubs, including a youth group with many teams and men’s and women’s study groups.

Parks, Schools & Other Points of Interest in Whitehouse Neighborhood

 

Whitehouse Neighborhood is also home to some amazing parks, schools, public libraries, and other points of interest for its citizens to enjoy.  These facilities are all world-class, beautifully maintained, and clean so residents of surrounding communities often visit to enjoy them.  Here’s a short list all located in Whitehouse Neighborhood:

Whitehouse Elementary School is a public elementary school in the city of Jacksonville, Florida. Whitehouse Elementary School has a student population of 449 students and offers grades PK-5. At Whitehouse Elementary School, 57 percent of kids scored proficient or above in arithmetic, while 45 percent of children scored proficient or above in reading.

A railroad conductor named the community when he halted his train at a white frame house by the railway many years ago. Whitehouse Elementary School No. 51 first opened its doors in 1926. The first facility, which serviced grades one through eight, included five classrooms and a library.

Crystal Springs Road Park is a 40-acre park with nature trails, an exercise course, picnic tables, and grills. It also has playgrounds for kids of all ages as well as multi-purpose playfields where you can go skateboarding or just have some fun playing football on those nice fall days. Their system directly serves Duval County residents and employees, both inside the city boundaries of Jacksonville and in the Beaches and Baldwin neighborhoods.

There are plenty of things to do in Jacksonville. The Baldwin Rail Trail is just one of several free parks to explore and enjoy. It stretches from the westside of Jacksonville to Baldwin, Florida, and is currently paved for 14/5 miles through a canopied forest. It offers wonderful hiking trails, bike paths, and is well suited for running, rollerblading, or even just a lovely walk.

Since 1965, this member-owned club has provided a safe atmosphere for the sport of shooting. We have yearly memberships that provide unrestricted use of the shooting ranges and daily memberships that are confined to select ranges for the occasional shooter. Except for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, the club is open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. until sunset. There are multiple handgun ranges for shooting paper targets and steel plates at varying distances. The rifle ranges provide shooting positions at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards. Monthly matches for small bore, black powder, 22 50/50 benchrest, bullseye pistol, 3×20 prone, NMC, and cowboy are held for individuals interested in competition.
