Windcrest Golf Club is a 9 hole Semi-Private golf course situated in Windcrest, Texas. The windy city of San Antonio contains the club just 10 minutes away from downtown and conveniently close to Fort Sam Houston and Randolph AFB. Travelers can easily access via 410 or I35 with easy passage through town.
Opened in 1964, Windcrest Golf Club was once a popular destination. At one point it boasted 300 members, but by 2010 their numbers dropped so low that they had to allow public play.
This nine-hole layout is a shot maker’s dream. The only par 5 measures 2,485 yards from the back tees and narrow fairways with numerous trees make this an interesting challenge for any golfer or beginner alike. Despite being so short in distance, water hazards on several holes add extra difficulty to shots making it quite difficult to achieve low scores here!Â
An additional set of tees can be used when playing eighteen holes that loops twice around the course which makes Windcrest Golf Club a great place for both beginners and experienced players looking for some fun competition.

Windcrest Golf Club is a great place to test your shot making skills with its challenging 18 holes. Par for the course is 68 and has 4800 yards of tree-lined fairways where you will face five par 4s, three par 3s, and one long 5 that all call into question whether or not your ball can come home in just two shots.
The course, which was established over 50 years ago, includes many mature oaks and cottonwoods that produce a variety of fun yet difficult golfing experiences for amateur enthusiasts through their unique designs in windy conditions on all 18 holes.
The typically fast greens are groomed meticulously and water can come into play on two holes. The course is framed by lush foliage that makes for a beautiful setting, but it does not distract from the game at hand.
On this course, there are green-side bunkers and elevated greens that add interest to your short game skills. You are welcome to walk or ride around while you play!

Windcrest Golf Club hosts a variety of tournaments each month. Their mens’ and ladies golf associations also host their own events, including Friday night contests with drinks afterwards.

Windcrest Golf Club is the home of seasoned golf professional James Benites. He has been in the industry for over 15 years and works as an instructor, course director, coach and mentor to junior players. Mr. Benites’ students have won at every level: high school tournaments such as the San Antonio City Junior Boys Championship.
PGA tour events like STPGA’s College Championships; National championships with First Tee all-girls program including LPGA US Kids Team Tournament. Because he takes pride in developing young talent it comes without surprise that his former pupils now play collegiate golf or compete professionally on tours such as Nationwide Tour & The Web Series Live Under Par.

Getting There
Windcrest Golf Club is a 6-block drive from San Antonio. Take 10 E to 410 N, exit Walsum St., and turn right onto Midcrown Dr.. The club entrance will be on your left after exiting the highway.
