Kid-Friendly Parks in San Antonio – Orsinger Park | Evans Road CBD Store
12230 Huebner Rd, San Antonio, TX 78230, United States
If you don’t pay attention, you could miss a park as you drive along. It’s similar to the road but it’s securely fenced off. Orsinger County Park is a beautiful, smaller sized park situated off Huebner on the past Vance Jackson. Its key attractions are a fun new kiddos playground, and some short walking trails across the rest of the park.
Orsinger also provides a large sandbox which is a kids success. You can go there for a picnic for the first time and there is plenty of seating right across the street. There is also a wide pavilion with a kitchen area, which would be ideal for a party or meeting. Orsinger still has fairly clean toilets. The park is very shaded and even on warm days it can be pretty nice to be outdoors. Dogs are not allowed in the playground area yet.
The park will be open from 9 a.m. by 6 P.M. November-March and 9 a.m. by 9 P.M. April to October.
The park has plenty of oak trees, along the walking trails, as well as some native cactuses. The shade from those trees on a warm day makes Orsinger a good choice.
If you want to go for a longer walk or bike ride, Orsinger is not the place for you, because the trails are pretty small. However, if you’re a mom who is looking for a great place to get some energy out of the kids, Orsinger is fine.
This park is a wonderful place for families. There are many swing sets, some also for younger kids. At least six frames. There are two areas which imitate areas of rock climbing. Restroom facilities are open. There are places to shop. There is a sandbox, as well.
Behind the playground are bbq grills that people can use and there are also picnic tables spread throughout. You will notice that there’s a shared sandy wash station for kids, and they can wash off at it.
On good weather days, the park appears to be busy. In the winter months it is accessible until 6 pm, but later during the summer. There is a decent amount of parking, too.
And if you plan an event, you can reserve the covered area that will be visible when driving into the parking lot.
