There is more to a CBD label than fancy art and small prints. Like most things, the devil is in the detail.
A CBD product label should contain all the information you need to know about the CBD product you have purchased or intend to purchase. Some of such information includes Company’s name, CBD content (Isolate, Full-spectrum or Broad spectrum), CBD product type (Vape, Oils, Drops, Balm or Gummies), and the amount of CBD measured in milligram contained in the product.
All of these you should see at first look, but is that all there is to it? Not at all. Now, that’s the purpose of this article. We would call your attention to some of the most critical points to consider on a CBD label when purchasing a CBD product.
1. THC Content
THC is the psychoactive compound contained in hemp and marijuana. By federal law, only a small amount (not more than 0.3%) of THC is allowed in products that are to be sold to the public. Knowing the THC amount in the product you intend to purchase would help forestall adverse reactions due to THC intoxication. A credible CBD company would list the THC amount in the product on the label or the test result sheet. When there is no THC in the product, it should be clearly stated; Zero THC, 0.0% THC, or No THC.
2. CBD Content
Every CBD label should tell you whether the product is Full-spectrum, Broad-spectrum, or Isolate CBD. Full-spectrum CBD refers to CBD and other hemp plant derivatives, including phytocannabinoids, flavonoids, and terpenes. This product retains all the compounds of the hemp plant, including THC. Broad-spectrum refers to products that contain all of the compounds in the hemp plant without traces of THC. While CBD isolate refers to a product that has separated the CBD molecule and does not contain any other compounds.
3. Storage Instructions
The CBD labels should tell you how best to store your product. Soft gels tend to melt in warmer climates, so they should be stored in the refrigerator after opening, while others like oils should be kept in a cool, dark place to preserve freshness.
4. Dosage
Most CBD labels will tell you the recommended dosage, but if you’re taking CBD for therapeutic purposes, it’s best to speak to your doctor before you decide how much to take.
There are currently no requirements for CBD labels, which has created an environment wherein manufacturers can mislead consumers. You must run a background check online for the company you hope to buy from to be satisfied that they truly live up to what they advertise. Or better still, you can buy from us at www.mjcbdd.com.
Most credible CBD companies would have the products 3rd party lab testing results on hand at all times. Avoid brands that do not have these as they may not be accurate to their stated adverts.
