As CBD awareness increases, so are CBD-related inquiries.
From which CBD product best fits? To will CBD help my anxious dog?
There’s an all-time-high quest to know CBD – its dosage, effect, safety, and legal concerns.
While the internet is choked with information on everything CBD, there’s a scarcely discussed concern – Is CBD for everyone?
Before we discuss whether or not CBD is for everyone, let’s quickly discuss some basics.
First,
What is CBD?
CBD is a compound found in the renowned cannabis plant.
Short for Cannabidiol, CBD is believed to house several health-giving potentials.
While CBD-based researches are ongoing, the results are yet too early to make conclusive statements about its health benefits.
However, lab reports so far – backed by a convincing lot of anecdotal evidence – suggest that CBD may help handle various health concerns.
Is CBD Really Effective?
As mentioned, although research is in its infancy, data so far shows CBD may be an effective and more natural alternative to the typical chemical-laden therapeutic prescriptions.
Among the lots, CBD has proven effective for managing different health conditions, including:
- Insomnia
- Anorexia
- Cancer symptoms
- Chronic pain
- Joint pain
- Epilepsy
- Arthritis
…To mention but a few
In fact, the medical niche may refer to CBD as the best thing to happen since sliced bread.
But even with the increasing testimonies, many still think CBD has nothing to offer. They claim CBD is nothing but a hype.
That brings us back to the main question…
Is CBD for Everyone?
Simply. NO
Although CBD’s praises are on many lips, it isn’t a one-treats-all miracle therapy as widely touted and may not be as useful for everyone.
Many have tried CBD through different applications, only to find it doesn’t work for them. If you can relate, no worries.
CBD’s effect varies across users, depending on several individual factors, including:
- Biochemistry
- Metabolism
- Genetics
For clarity, we all have an Endocannabinoid System (ECS). CBD – and some other active compounds in cannabis – interacts with the ECS and cause effects, which vary based on the above-mentioned-factors, biochemistry, metabolism, and genetics.
Genetic mutation is relatively common, a condition in about 20 percent of Americans, which triggers endocannabinoid productions, similar to those found in cannabis.
Persons with such mutations usually have low anxiety levels as they produce more endocannabinoids than average. With this excess production, additional phytocannabinoids, including CBD, may give little or no effect.
Wrap up – Be Patient!
We await more research to make valid conclusions about CBD’s effect. But tentatively, experts stress the need for patience.
Sometimes, the effects may come, but after trying out different products and dosage options. So, although CBD may not deliver equal potency across board – and may not work for some – generally, it takes the right brand/quality, dosage form, doses, and patience to get the desired result.
For the best results, you may want to discuss with your physician for a more personalized prescription and general guidance.
Also, quality matters a great lot. So, insist on a reputable CBD vendor when shopping for your CBD products.
