The neighborhood of Old Hickory has a long history, dating back to the days when it served as an employee town for DuPont. The houses in Old Hickory were built to house the employees and supervisors of DuPont. This neighborhood is located in the Hadley Bend section of eastern Davidson County and is named after President Andrew Jackson who was nicknamed ‘Old Hickory.’ Old Hickory is a unique area that has been loved by many. The Old Hickory Country Club was founded in 1926 by the DuPont Company for their employees.
