As cannabis legalization continues to spread, we are seeing innovations and creative ideas coming to surface. Entrepreneurs, or otherwise known as ganjaprenuers, in this industry are always creating the next big thing. Ideas like cannabis inhalers, patches, vape pens, delicious edibles, coffee, water, etc. You name it, it probably exists in a THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) or CBD (cannabinol) form.
Cannabis products containing THC are more limited due to federal legalities. THC products are legal in numerous state, but not all. This is where CBD comes in. CBD derived from hemp contains barely any THC, 0.3 percent or less. Meaning CBD doesn’t get you “high,” which has created a legal grey area. Laws surrounding CBD have been a little confusing since the start, but basically, CBD derived from hemp is legal in all 50 states, thanks to the Farm Bill Act.
Companies have to follow strict guidelines when it comes to labeling for both THC or CBD products. Which is understandable, it’s a new industry and is growing rapidly. Making sure people have access to quality CBD hemp products is key for building a successful foundation for the cannabis industry.
CBD Water
H2O, the essence of life, is now being infused with CBD-hemp. This concept is really quite interesting. You already need to drink water, might as well get an added benefit out of it.
Our social media manager had the experience of trying CBD-infused water. Here’s what he had to say:
“I first tried CBD water during a cannabis expo in Los Angeles. This was about two years ago, and I didn’t know all that much about CBD. So many news stories and independent studies were emerging, so I was a little skeptical of CBD products.
While at the expo, I was handed a bottle of CBD-infused water, I can’t remember the brand off the top of my head. I was thirsty at the time I received it, so I figured I might as well drink it. To be honest, I was a little nervous about how I’d feel after drinking it.
About 30 minutes after drinking it, I felt calmer during the event. I felt my shoulders drop down from relaxation. It was a nice feeling and I was still able to function with full clarity.”
CBD Coffee
Another great beverage is CBD-hemp infused coffee. This is another neat concept because there are so many coffee drinkers out there who could benefit. Coffee drinkers love the energy they receive but usually dislike the jitters.
CBD hemp coffee offers a unique solution. The stress and anxiety relieving properties of CBD are ideal for the jitters that are associated with coffee. This allows individuals to get that energy kick while minimizing the negative side effects.
The Future of CBD Beverages
With the spread of cannabis legalization growing like wildfire, pun intended, the future of CBD beverages looks promising. At this rate, one day not too far away, we will see beverages come in both regular and CBD-infused editions.
