There are several articles and publications available on the internet that extol the values of CBD but one point that all seem to avoid is that CBD may not work for everyone and there are reasons.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid that interacts with cannabinoid receptors in the body to correct anomalies, improve performance, and impact overall health and wellness. The substance has had proven efficacy in the treatment and management of a diverse range of ailments including autoimmune conditions, inflammation, pain, symptoms resulting from cancer treatment, etc. But then, there are those who say this has not been their case.
For people who have tried CBD and can’t seem to understand what the hype is about since it didn’t work for them, we have outlined a few reasons why CBD may not have worked for you.
Counterfeit Products
For want of a better description, we chose to describe products without proper certification as counterfeit. Currently, there are no standard regulatory oversights in the cannabis industry. Much of what happens in the industry is self-censorship backed by third party testing validation.
To affirm that products are of good quality, they must have a third party test certificate from a reputable lab. Products that do not have these certificates are likely deceitful about the content of the products as marketed. So, if you have been using products without a test certificate, check – that could be why you are not getting the benefits of CBD. The product may not contain CBD in the right amounts as advertised.
Improper Dosing
With CBD, the rule of thumb is to start small and work your way up to your appropriate dose. Some individuals neglect this simple rule, and as you would likely expect, they end up dissatisfied. Dosing is critical to getting the benefits of CBD. Too much and you might experience some adverse side effects, too little and you just might not feel any effect. Knowing and fixing the right dose is as important as buying from the right source.
Genetic Makeup
Although these set falls under a small minority, it is important we mention it. There are those who CBD would have no effect on due to their unique genetic makeup. No one knows for sure why this is the case, but then, it has to be expected. Genetics plays a huge role in how our body reacts to medications and treatment. And as CBD is a medication, it is expected that it can also be influenced by your genes.
Our Thoughts
On a lighter note, CBD works, but if you are having challenges with how it works for you, it’s best you speak with your doctor to understand what might be the problem. But it works!
